BBQ Baked Beans

  • 1 can Bush’s Homestyle Baked Beans
  • 1 can Goya Black Beans – drained
  • 1 can Goya Small Red Kidney Beans - drained
  • 3 strips of Bacon
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • ½ teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Ground Mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • Small Onion – Chopped
Chop up raw bacon by slicing strips long ways into thirds.   Then stack up and chop into small pieces the size of a pimento.  Put raw bacon into medium sauce pan and fry until ¾ of the way done.  Bacon will be brown and there will be a small amount of grease in bottom of pan.
Mix in brown sugar, molasses and honey.  Stir with bacon and grease until smooth.  Mix in ketchup, liquid smoke.  Next mix all spices in except onions.  Now pour in both cans of beans and put pan on stove on medium heat stirring occasionally but not too much.  Once a small boil is achieved cut down to simmer and cook for 30 minutes until it slightly thickens.  Mix in chopped onions - simmer for 15 minutes and serve.
